Description
One of my legendary pokemon. Part of the minor trio of legends, the other two being a hydra and a chinese dragon, both of which I still haven't drawn yet. The theme is just mythical creatures really, I wasn't thinking about the theme so much as just what would make a cool pokemon design. Anyways, I first started drawing this guy around late 2008 or something like that, then forgot about it, found it again, changed it a bit and then drew this. Hurray.Electric/Flying
The Soaring Pokemon
Ability: Cloud Cover (When this pokemon takes damage from an opponents attack, its evasiveness rises by one level)
It makes its nest on mountain ranges that are bathed in clouds. Water vapour streams from its tail tip, causing it to leave a cloud trail as it flies.
Pokemon belong to Nintendo, Mr thunder griffin belongs to me, all your base are belong to us.

Contra from Contrail a type of cloud and fen, from GΓ© lΗ fΔn, Griffin in Chinese. I chose Chinese because the fakeamon reminds me of a Chinese dragon :/.

i really like the design,it is really good and very original,the cloud details on his body are very good,specially the tail and i like the white lighting thunder symbols on itΒ΄s back

Weird. That's the name I created for my legendary griffin pokemon which is an electric and dragon type pokemon. I haven't drawn it yet. You can see its name in the legendaries section of a journal I wrote called Pokemon Solar and Lunar. (I'm trying to create 151 pokemon)

I made a Gryphon pokemon myself, Haven't posted it up on DA yet. But i have to say i took a different approach. I admire your design though i think its very lovely. So i favorited it. I think you did a wonderful job at capturing Gryphon elegance. Gryphons happen to be one of my favorite mythological creatures aside from the Cocatrice, and the Magic-Seal. And by Magic-Seal, i'm not referring to the animal but a mythological humanoid that has the ability to negate all magic. But they tend to be really mean, and rather hermitish.
The Cloud design on the Gryphon i've found is not unusual for Fakemon Gryphons. So I can't say this was the most original Gryphon design i've seen. The blue colors were a nice change. And a Flying/thunder combo means it will have extreme weaknesses to rock. Which is a downfall. But it makes up for it by being effective against water, plant, bug, and other flying, as well as fighting, since he'll prolly learn flying moves. I'm looking forward to seeing your hydra, and Chinese dragon. Are they up yet? Mostly looking forward to the Hydra, but i want to see if you tried something unique and unusual with the chinese dragon. I've seen a lot of Chinese dragon fakemon. So i hope your design is really impressive and original. I'd love to see a reall interesting take on it, something i haven't seen yet. As Far as Hydras go, they are a popular mythological creature. You seen them often times in films and read about them in more books then i can count. I'd like to see your take on a pokemon version Hydra, and i can't say i wouldn't love to have a Hydra pokemon, as long as it wasn't really stupid looking. I really love crocodiles, and i was most disappointed in Sandile when the fifth Gen came out.
My design followed the more traditional method of Gryphon designing. That being, taking a pre-existing cat and pre-existing bird and combining them. So i decided to work a little magic on some of the traditonal cats and birds of pokemon, and made something that wasn't either. And not quite a fusion. But still retained similarities. ^w^
Wish they had a lion and an eagle pokemon i could've used. But i think it came out pretty great.

Sounds like your Griffin fakemon's gonna be really cool, I look forward to seeing it! As for my one, I think the fact that it has clouds on it and the fact that other people tend to do cloud griffins are a coincidence, purely because I hadn't actually looked up any griffin fakemon myself back when I designed mine! Heh, I do that with all my fakemon though, I just draw what comes to me, and if there are other designs like it I can honestly say it's wasn't copied. Same goes for the chinese dragon idea, I haven't looked any others up, just put my ideas down. Actually speaking of him, not sure when I'll get around to drawing that one up but hopefully it'll be sometime soon. I did his initial sketches several years ago and he hasn't progressed any further. Same goes for the hydra. But they will be drawn eventually, I just tend to do them when I'm feeling really geared up for it, I enjoy doing them more then. Whether they look original or not... I'll let you decide that when the time comes!
