Description WORK-IN-PROGRESS
This one was from 2009 and I've been meaning to work on it for quite some time. I basically drew the characters from one of my favorite childhood movies, as well as one of my all-time favorite animated films from the 1980s, The Brave Little Toaster. Now, trust me when I say this movie is a million times better than it sounds. It's about five appliances who go out in search of their owner, but it manages to pull the whole concept off pretty well, in my opinion. I love it because it had a timeless and charming story (even if elements like the "Cutting Edge" song are kinda dated), great atmosphere, enjoyable characters, lively animation (though it definitely had a few weak spots), David Newman's fantastic music, witty humor for adults, cartoony antics for children, and a tone that ranged from light and fluffy to dark and brooding. It's fondly remembered by children of the late 80s and 90s, myself included, and has achieved a status of being a cult classic.

I adore this movie so much that I even bought the official soundtrack, and upon reading the linear notes, was amazed at how much effort was put into this film, and it gave me a new sense of respect for it.

So yeah, this is just a simple group shot of the characters, Toaster, Lampy, Blanky, Radio, and Kirby the vacuum cleaner, traveling to the city in search of "The Master", who they call their owner. My personal favs are Lampy, Radio and Kirby, but Toaster and Blanky are good characters as well.

My idea for this was to have it inked in in Illustrator or Photoshop, and then color it in, including a few effects for Lampy's light and the night sky.

By the way, as for what I think about the sequels, they're pretty weak, but they still had their good moments.

Ah, I love this movie. The sequels were OK, but had too many characters crammed into them.

Yeah, the sequels were OK, but the original still remains the best and my favorite.

nice! I love the brave little toaster, although its sad how it takes a darker turn and shows people what happens to anything that is abandoned or thrown away. I always thought it had a deeper meaning and though its a children's movie I kind of realized when i got older that some people are treated like the electrical appliances in real life, especially in the end when they are taken to the junkyard full of cars thinking that they're not important and their lives aren't worth living. great picture though and i love that movie

Ahh , the memories that this brings back. I absolutely loved this movie as a kid. Too bad I only have the second one right now.

You might just have to look for a VHS or DVD copy of the first one then.

I guess I will.

I do remember watching it a long time ago. A very sad film.

Well from what I remember, there were some sad scenes. But I don't remember it that well. Again, I haven't seen this film in years.

I see.

Yeah, there were a few sad scenes, like the one involving Toaster and that flower.

I'll bet there's not a lot of fanart for this movie. Nice of you to help fill the void!

Well, there's quite a bit of it, but I figured I had to contribute since I love this movie so much.
