I'd suggest - as one person already said - capturing the whole hand would be better and I'd suggest a bit another angle of the scissors - they are not very well seen there becaise of shadows.

thanks...i'm going to try to reprint this on a different type of papaer once i get the chance..and i think the negative actually has the full hand? i dont know what happened

I really like the lighting in this photo. I also like the angle the person's face is at, it keeps it from being a boring portrait pose.

but you should capture whole hand becase this cut doesnt work very nice now...

good angle, and lighting. photography really stumps me sometimes cuz im not sure if there is hidden meaning, like this one. but overall its a nice shot. i love black and white.
