Description
This was my first shot a creation with a graphics editor program. I remember using a rather modest program that was not quite near Photoshop's level. (Don't remember the name...) Still, the program was enough to allow simple filters, layers, and transformation tools. All the hands are from the same person, and were captured using a digital camera and a single light source. A noob at the time, I flattened the final image and saved it as a jpg, not realizing what I was doing. Dumb me.

The original image was supposed to be photorealistic. It was rather boring, with a plain background and normal colored skin. The fact that I wasn't able to achieve perfect photorealisticness made me consider allowing an abstract look to an already abstract idea. Adding blue to the image had to be done to the flattened jpg. The fact that I saved this as a flatten image irks me at times, because I can't really change things anymore with good detail. For example, I think that when it comes to lighting, the only convincing fingers are the thumb, pinky, and ring finger. The pointer and middle finger seem inconsistent with the lighting.

Still, it's a favorite of mine. I've gotten a very specific recommendation from someone about a possible complimentary image. The suggestion was that I should attempt the same hand with hands idea, but this time have the palm of the hand(s) face the viewer, rather than the back. Just might try it someday...
