Hmm, what should I say, for some reason I did watch a amv of evangelion and those piano moments absolutely fascinated me and I just had to draw this. just a warning, I plan on doing more of Shinji and Kowaru on the piano, just already because they portray so much emotion. I'm considering even letting go of my realism for a bit. but I haven't yet decided. I kinda did let go of realism here already I guess. but it totally fits.I didn't plan on outlining it, but in the end thought, it would get a stronger image. I'm a bit sad that my camera apparently couldn't handle the green colour very well in this light, but any other pictures I did yesterday in artificial light happened to be unclear somewhere. and I wanted to share it with you folks.
I really enjoyed drawing this out of a almost bird perspective, having him look up. Even though I feel like I failed capturing the head properly, it seems a little bit weird to me, but as I don't always go for complete perfectionism, that is fine too. i still enjoyed drawing the pose a lot, plus adapting his face a tiny bit.
I dedicate this toΒ jhasthedeathnote Β though I don't know if she will like it. Jovanna. I wanted to draw Howl for you for the longest time, but any attempts up till now have failed till now. I still plan on doing it, but I wanted to draw something with you in mind. Don't ask me why this is it now. as I don't even know if you like the piano, but I guess the more manga-ish style I drew this might be part of the cause. I sincerily hope you like it either way.

this is actually mind blowing because for the longest time i had this idea of an animation made about a life of a piano player omg XD however i don't think i'll ever reach the skills to make that but i think the idea of it might be something you'd enjoy as well ^^
i'm so sad i didn't get to see this sooner omg when did you post this anyways?? the piano looks great! ahhh i really love the idea of this so much now because it reminded me of that project i will never complete omg XD

Heheh, I can totally see that. and who knows. you could try to do a short comic on it, or a story with a few chosen drawings accompanying it...
then again, we all have too many projects, don't we?
hehe, actually the date is hidden on the piano, it's like 08.12.2016 so I assume it was around that, maybe a day or two later...Β it was a while ago... gosh I still remember when I did it and it was a hard time for me back then

idk i really made it so the music is crucial XD maybe i should look into traditional animation? with the paper filp book and allΒ
i really wish to do it one day, maybe when i reach the skill needed but then again i'm in no rush cause it makes sense that i would take ages to do it
since the whole point of the video would be an artist racing time to create something he thinks would be his masterpiece and ugh i managed to even get a few friends into the idea so i'll possibly have help with it when i get around to doing it and that's great

Great work on the body! Not just for the pose, but the angle must've made it more challenging too. It's an interesting shot. I think it turned out nicely though. Nice job on the hands, too. Hands can be difficult to draw well.
I like the detail on the piano too.

I drew from a reference, wanted to try it out. that includes the angle and pose, but it was challenging even so, and I hope I can draw this kind of angle out of my head sometimes. it would be cool, and I loved the expressionate way he looked up in the original pic. full of joy, I don't think I fully did that justice yet. but I can always try again

It's a less common angle, for sure. Even when I was a lot looser with my drawing and less of a perfectionist, I probably would've struggled at least a bit trying to get an angle like this to my satisfaction on my own.

Indeed. While seeing this, I seriously thought about doing something similar in the future. A standard drawing as my usual ones, but with that angle

I'll have in my mind a nice drawing with this kind of angle. Honestly, I think it will be a bit difficult to do, but I hope the result will turn out balanced and harmonious. ^^
