Very nice and to answer the question about Arch Linux. I've been a long time Arch user but I was needing to install on my laptop and I thought I would give ArchBang a try (Arch Linux with Openbox Window Manager) already setup I just as you said and did sudo pacman -S gnome gnome-extra to install gnome check my screenshot out [link] It's running like a dream.

If you want gnome, then type this: sudo pacman -S gnome gnome-extra

you should try archbang first. Arch will slowly grow on to you that way. Atleast thats the way I did it

One thing I've noticed is that Arch users love showing to everyone that they use Arch by using and Arch Linux wallpaper. That's a sign of a very good distro

Soooo true and I think it's because of the beautiful arch logo

Maybe you're right, but as you said it's a great distro. Their motto is KISS - Keep It Simple, Stupid.
