Description Wow, long time no post! *Shame*

I've been very busy these last months, and among the commissions and personnal works I've done lately is this huge piece of wood that slowly became one new musical instrument, and one of the purest heart and most powerful voice!
Here stands a tall 2m04 didgeridoo, in the beautiful key of B (Si), gifted with ample space in the lower part that gives it a powerful and overall MASSIVE sound, the kind that fills the space of any room to capacity and makes every object and being around vibrate with it... Yet this power comes with much smoothness and velvelty nature, and richness in harmonics due to the tempered air column, the volume of the bell part and the density of the wood (plain hard solid mountain mothafuckin' beech, hard as hell) that gives it a rock-hard support for the power your breath instills in it.

The outer part is pyrographed with Scandinavian-inspired intricate knotwork (about Mammen and Ringerike periods, with much personnal sauce in it). The main pattern symbolizes a howling wolf, giving its voice to the didg. The branch knot on the top of the bell features a traditionnal solar wheel surrounded by old futhark runes.

The overall instrument was coated with varnish for the interior, and bio hard oil for the exterior (after six varnished didgeridoos I fell in love with the render of the natural hard oil, it gives depth and incredible warmth to wood grain, along with lovely sweet scent).

I'm very very proud of this instrument, already learnt a lot from it, but now it leaves home to be with his new potential owner...

This piece was home-recorded with an Oktava Mk-012, a microphone pretty renowned for its linear sensibility and fidelity of restitution, so it's a very natural sound you hear.

Wow. That's impressive! (And I'm so proud of myself for knowing what periods of viking art you're referring to!)

I'm listening to the sound sample now...amazing. Great job!
