What a lovely picture! I so agree with him being Shenzi and Banzai’s son. Didn’t the creators of the show say Janja, or something along the lines, were descendants of the original hyenas?

Thank you! Yeah, they said that the original hyenas are ancestors of Janja's Clan (here )

since the show came out i always thought that Janja was Banzais and Shenzis son, would make sense why he is the leader and everything, also they are alike. Beautiful drawing!

I thought maybe he was born at some point after the hyenas left the pride lands and before simba had her daughter, Kiara

That's cute. Depending on Janja's gender, that is what would determine the out come of life. Females are a head in the social ranking, seen as queens and jewels who gets the best meat first whilst males have to be at the very bottom of the ranking. Sometimes males leave their packs in order to find another one in order to not cause inbreeding a,omg the pack. Something truly interesting.

Warning: here comes an unbearably long comment! xD
Thanks!
But your view on hyena social behaviour is not entirely true. I guess you watched a video called "Why It Sucks to Be a Male Hyena" by Minute Earth . Well, it is a short clip, some things have been simplified in it and it can give a false view. The hierarchy in the clan of hyenas is a bit more complicated than "the females live a life of luxury and they overpover and exlude the poor males, because they are stronger and meaner".
The social rank of the hyena in its native clan depends on the rank of its mother . Offspring usually acquire a social rank just below that held by their mother and this applies to both daughters and sons. But when the males reach adulthood they usually disperse and join another clan to find better mating prospects . As immigrants, they have no longer the support of their mothers, they are strangers. And that's why they become the lowest-ranking hyenas in their new clan, being even below the lowest-ranking female and her cubs.
But sometimes adult males don't leave . Whether a spotted hyena male stays at home or decides to leave simply depends on whether his birth clan or another clan contains the highest number of young females when he wants to start breeding. Staying at home comes with advantages, because mothers provide social support to their stay-home sons and ensure they acquire a high social rank among breeding males. This gives the "mama’s boys" privileged access to both food and females, allowing them to invest a lot of time consorting females. Genetic paternity analyses showed that stay-home males father their first cubs at a younger age than dispersers and father almost exclusively cubs with high-ranking females — females of high reproductive value because they are most successful at rearing offspring.
In exceptional cases, a male may even lead a clan ! A male leading a hyena clan is very rare and usually only happens when the alpha female dies and her highest-ranking offspring is a son. However, it is a bit inconsistent with the view that all hyena males are poor losers, isn't it?

You are correct in giving a false view judging from the comments in the video... (i.e. Femnazi related ones)
