Description
Got time to doodle during my lunch break earlier.Did a fan art of Paya of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
I really had a spark when I first saw her, she's so cute!!
I wish I had a Nintendo switch, I really like this game. T___T

Paya is so adorable. She is also sweet and caring and always thinks about what is best for everyone in the town she loves. She deserves someone like Link in her life

I haven't been able to play the game at all, but I have watched playthroughs. Paya was a great character. Something about shy girls really appeal to me.

Well in the case of lineage. Most of the time Link and Zelda couldn't have hooked up. Because in the case Zelda is almost always descended from royalty. And Link is almost always descended from from the Hero (Of Whatever.) So Link almost always has to hook up with someone else. So Paya makes a much better choice. Just like Malon from OOT.

Execept in this game because the realm is a wreck so forget lineage. Its sad zelda never had that kind of choice-based gameplay

Well the realm is a wreck, but we still don't know what timeline BOTW falling under. (At least I don't know yet.)
But other than the downfall timeline there is a good chance that lineage is still in play. Which means that Zelda and Link will likely never hook up.
Sorry in my theory, Paya is the best choice. I don't think Link ever hooked up with a Sheikah.

What i meant is that there is no actual hyrule kingdom,it was destroyed, there is no royal law or anything. So there is no one to actually say they cant be together.

I don't think anyone actually says "You two can't be together" I think it's just a choice the two of them make.
With the way the story goes in BOTW I think Zelda falls in love the link early on, so there is always the chance they hook up after BOTW.
But we will never really know how things go until the story that comes after this one.

They kind of can if there is a culture around it. Wich was why nobility woudnt marry "peasants". As for the story i wouldnt get my hopes up. TLOZ was never big on on-screen romance. (Wich is honestly a shame)

I mean most of the time Link shied away from romance. Unless of course it was Zelda or some princess. (like Midna) But in some of the recent games Link is a Knight, Which mean he was likely a noble of some sort especially since he was able to move up to royal guard and protect the princess herself. So in BOTW he does have the best chance with the princess that he has ever had.
But I honestly think Link and Zelda have "flings" or "Summer time romances" after the stories, but once again they never really hook up for whatever reason. I do agree. I think there should be some kind of in-depth romance building mechanic in these games. They don't even have to go that in-depth for me to be happy. But the ability to see how far things "might" go would be nice.

Well, technically link is a descendend from royalty in botw. He has been trained like a normal guard, that's what i heared

No he is the descendant of a Knight. Which means he is nobility but not royalty.

One thing to consider is that Link are more like Reincarnations of basically the same person, not decedents. And you should notice that (when you ignore graphic limitations and art style choices) that Links all seem to look identical to one another, meaning they'd have to have the same DNA.
Now, remember Skyward Sword? It's pretty clear that that Link and that Zelda (who were each the very first in the timeline) got together and Link was likely the father of that Zelda's kids.
This would basically mean that BoTW Link is Zelda's great great great great great great great great-grandfather.
Granted, that's 10s of thousands of years ago by this point, but still... pretty weird.
In the end, as much as I like Paya and her sweet shyness, I think that BoTW Link belongs with Zelda.

Problem with that, it all really depends on the timeline.
In Twilight Princess, I believe that link is actually the Descendant of the Hero of time. So that says they were blood related. (by how ever many generations.) In some timelines the Hero is directly related to the previous heroes. But in the downfall timeline the hero is simply reincarnated because the hero died fighting Ganon in OOT.
Sadly they never really get into the details if any of the heroes hook up with any of Zelda so we can only speculate.

It's possible that Links can be descendants AND reincarnations, as weird as that would be. If one Link had kids, their great-grandkid could be the next incarnation of Link. That would explain the confusion regarding reincarnation and descendents.

Descendants are of the same blood line. Reincarnation is when your soul is born into a new body.
Most cases the descendant is chosen as the vessel for the reincarnation, but the downfall timeline it's different bloodlines that are chosen.

Yep, because in that imeline Link was killed by Gannon.
It's the Adult Timeline that's really weird though! In that one, Link and his soul are just gone! So did the Godesses have to just create a new Hero Soul?

Actually I think the Child timeline is the really messed up one. The heroes soul from OOT is upset because he isn't remembered as a hero.
But I still believe that he is not reincarnated in those timelines. Just it's his blood line that continues to be heroes. So it would be new souls each time.
The only timeline I know of reincarnation is the downfall line. He doesn't remember his past lives until he is dubbed the hero and then is reminded.

I think Links being completely identical points to reincarnation in all timelines. Just look at BoTW Link and Skyward Sword Link!

You would be surprised how much genes can make you look like someone else in your family. There will usually be slight differences. Such as hair color slight difference in eye color, etc.

I will admit, this is a fun debate.
Genes can be an amazing thing. People with completely different bloodlines and look the same.
Look up "celebrities that look like old photos" and you will see my point.
I mean game design aside purposefully making all the links look very similar.
Genetics could play a huge part of them looking alike. One of the big problems with the entire series is the fact that we almost never see much of Link's family.
I remember from SS that all Links, Zeldas, and Ganons are the same people (Essentially) cursed to play out the same story for all time. As the Main villain died he cursed Links soul to have to fight with him for all eternity.
So while I can believe the reincarnation of the "Hero" I still believe that most of the heroes are from the same bloodline.

Ignoring appearance, let's make note that all Links seem to possess the same personality. They're absurdly brave, have an affinity for all forms of combat, have a similar fashion sense, and don't speak very much; all this even though they often come from entirely different backgrounds. This suggests more than just similar genes. It would only really make sense if they all had the same soul.
Plus it would play well to the Rule of Three in the Zelda series. 3 different characters, possessing 3 different traits and 1/3 of the Triforce, returning to the world in 3 different ways.
Hylia, being passed down through the Zelda Bloodline.
Link, being reborn again and again whenever Hyrule needs him.
Demise, his hatred and power being reincarnated through Demon Kings like Gannondorf.
