This piece was commissioned by . The idea this time was to transform the character of Tempest Shadow, based on her look from the show, into a horned sphinx creature known as a "unisphinx." She develops an interest in reading old books and a love of riddles as she grows to be a size that can stop would-be pyramid pilferers. The client provided the following description of the sequence:

1. Tempest: "I've heard incredible things about these potions, but can one of them REALLY help my horn grow back when nothing else I've tried has worked?"

2. Tempest: "Hm... It says in this book that the potions and their effects are a riddle to even somepony as skilled as Starswirl. That might explain what's happened to my tail..."

3. Tempest: "Well, I DO see my horn growing back, but what ELSE is it doing to me? And why can't I stop myself reading these books on riddles and mysteries?"

4. Tempest: "That was the last book of riddles in Canterlot's... Wait, WINGS?! And I'm STILL getting bigger! Am I becoming... no, wait a minute... wings, the new accessories, the cat tail... I think it's making sense now. Didn't Rainbow Dash tell me once about something Sonambula faced in the distant past...?"

5. Tempest: "Riddle me this: How does one swig of a potion produce such an incredibly wonderful and powerful sphinx like I have become? All I wanted was a working horn, but this new body is so much better than what I had before!"
