Hello out there,so this is my first "real" 3D render work. Modelling/Texturing with 3D-Max, rendered with Vray 1.5 RC3 and post production in Photoshop.
Since i'm more familiar with game design (i created lots of maps for several games and created a few bigger mods for the first Halflife (Public Enemy & Brainbread)) you will recognize this influence for sure, although my intention was to create an image with a 2D-attitude.
It's the study chamber of the archmage. Always untidy and full of stuff he doesn't really need to create his new spell potions and magic scrolls. Hope you like it.

Awsome work. I think the light is a little too heavy. And I think the picture looks a little too clean. Try to add more shadows.
Somehow I think the light seems like in Assassin's Creed. The left windows are too bright. Maybe some other lighteffect on this?
But man, it's awsome detail work and a good composition.

I was absolutely fooled! I thought this was a photograph, and even if it was it has a gorgeous composition, but being that it's a 3D rendering makes it all the more better.

Great work on the modelling and textures.
Personally i think it could need some more shadows, dunno exactly what you mean by 2d attitude, maybe its just what iΒ΄m criticizing, but right now i think the picture looks too flat in a way. With such a strong light source in the back iΒ΄d except the objects on the table to show more distinct shadows for example.
Overall the lightning is very bright (even overexposed on the left window) but doesnΒ΄t really add a specific focus or atmosphere. Matter of taste though
It might be interesting to work a bit more with different light sources. If it was darker outside the candle could add a nice warm glow effect to the nearer objects, just as an example...
Still, awesome level of detail and a well deserved DD
