Description ..continued from deviation "Echo", of Nemesis and Narcissus.
photo essay.
The nymph goddess Nemesis knew Narcissus had to be reprimanded for his cruelty to Echo. So, as he sat on the edge of a river admiring his appearence in the waves, she placed a curse on him. He stared at himself in the water, and suddenly became entranced by his reflection. He was completely in love, driven mad by the image he saw, and would do anything to attain it.

As he reached his hand toward the face, hoping to merely touch it, a strange invisible force suddenly grabbed him by the wrist. The justice of the Nymphs. He fell in, (or rather, was pulled) only to disappear into the river's depth, never again to resurface. Nemesis had taken her revenge, an eye for an eye.
