Hey you, thanks! I always thought it is a bit too much you know I think you can reach people better with simple stuff, like all the successful illustrators do, but I'm very glad you dig it.

thank's man! I have no clue what the colors may look like, my monitor died in the progress and I lend me another from a friend, sometimes the colors dissapear completely then they got so oversaturated that it hurts looking at, they should appear eatable like candy-icecream-chocolate-pumpkinmilkshake or something When I got them right then I start printing. on fabric like a tapestry would be cool, the ones with wooden rolls on both ends.

oh, I know what you mean. when I started working in photoshop, my screen was completely fucked up. and I worked on that screen for another 2 or 3 years. printing was always a big surprise. I have a new computer now, but even that makes me doubt about the colours. If you print it it's always different. it's also different from screen to screen.

the colours here look good. nostalgic. orange and blue are a bit softer, it's not oversaturated at all actually. no idea how that will come out in print, it might be a bit dark, but I could be wrong too

right, if you want to make sure that the colors look pinpointed the same when printed you must pay an awful lot of money for the monitor. in my old dtp-agency we had eizo monitors and a colorimeter for perfect calibration, it's not that necessary I think, more important is writing a correct pdf file, that reduce surprises to the minimum

laresistance In reply to m0nimrod [2012-03-06 20:42:35 +0000 UTC]

of course, I knew you would know the old DTP tricks. I see you now as some kind of Asian Zen master with icons of indesign floating around you
I always do the trial and error thing. Most of the time the colours are quite ok when printed, but sometimes it's too dark and then I just edit it a bit and print it again until I get it right.

haha, indeed a few things are quite useful, we learned developing pictures the old-fashioned way in a darkroom, screen printing, technical drawing and stuff. we had a good teacher, someone that thought learning the old analog work of a typographer & printer first is nessesary for our understanding, most people hated him for that, I thought it was awesome, in fact it was the only interesting part of the fancy computer job
education that really got me. dude I'm not a master of anything I'm way to distracted from all the other things around me, like a dog in the park, a 1000 of smells, if you after one, shortly comes a better along

cool, I'd love to do some classes in printing like that. sounds fantastic !

and I'm a distracted person too. I have a hard time reading books or focusing on things. you should see me do murals. I start at the left corner for example and then paint a bit on the right, a bit on the left again, then something in the middle, back to the left, etc. I'm bored so easily ! you could say I'm afraid of routine or focusing for long times. although, I don't mind watching slow movies, what's up with that ?

keep the wonder alive ! it's a magical thing, man !

haha, I've done some murals years ago, just for friends but I remember it was very chaotic too. must be fun working on a mural together, could be a youtube hit

I can't hardly remember any slow movies but reading books works for me well. my teachers in school thought I had ADHS but I was just distracted. I grew up in a hippie commune, we moved into a flat when I was 7. the reversal from the commune to school was just a bit too much for me. no one ever told me what to do and then this, thousands of rules man. I thought the world hates me
