OH MY GOD IT'S AN OKAPI KIRIN!

I love how you combined the fur patterns of the okapi and giraffe, which are cousins. It also shows that maybe you did some research on the creature, since Chinese and Japanese people blieved Giraffes were kirins when they first saw them.

Really unique take on this classic beast! I'm digging the okapi stripes on the legs and flanks and the subtly iguanid quality of the (presumably laterally flattened) dorsal spines. At the risk of over-using terms derived from the word "spatula" this evening, I'm almost getting a floral vibe from those eyespotted spatulae near the terminal end of those trailing catfish tendrils...Like Venus' flytrap "jaws," perhaps, or were you going for something more like a chameleon's dewlap...?

Just out of curiosity, what was the inspiration behind the taloned feet? They look more mammalian than avian to me but I can't quite pin them down...Kangaroo, maybe?

Also, MO' MUSK DEER FOR THE WIN!!!11!!1!

Thanks once again!

For those tendril disks, if I was thinking about anything it was probably just peacock feathers. And as for the feet, they're pretty similar to basic carnivoran feet once you take the fur off of them. Not that I've done that personally, but I've seen pictures.
