Description Celestia once told me that love is what makes you human.
She then proceeded to laugh at my face that I never had any and attempted to push me into a random dimension.
Time may have passed, but I’ve always believed Celestia underestimated the depth of human love.
Of course, I did have some uncertainty regarding the topic. I must’ve lost something human throughout the years. Did I even know what love was? It’s such a broad idea after all. With that thought in mind, I took a break from the usual routine and asked my present members a simple favor:
“Define love in your own words.”

Alexia declared that love is guns, eyepatches, and candy. It was a childish notion that sounded ridiculous and mostly likely was. However, even that silly belief held some insight. Her eyes shined the brightest whenever Issac was the one helping her with weaponry. Eyepatches were a horrible addition to my personal journey, yet Alexia’s admiration for her childhood hero did not waver. And candy? She never failed to share sweets with her Narakian friends.

Di’Nomia gave me a strange look before stating, “Romance is overrated. I don’t need it if that’s what you’re saying.” I would’ve laughed if it was appropriate. Considering Celestia’s standards, I would rank as more humane than Di’Nomia. What a horrible comparison. Anyone would look like a criminal compared to the albino. I have yet to have a member who’s shown as much compassion and loyalty as Di’Nomia. Certainly, that devotion to friends, family, and even animals was love.
I admit it gets rather troublesome at times, especially combined with that problematic perfectionist complex. Being close with Cruz doesn't help either. Maybe he has some savior complex too? If he did, I suppose I don’t have much say in that matter.

Finally, there was Thorson, who rambled on and on about Storms and his sister. It must’ve been a glorious speech about true companions and familial bonds. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone talk so much about how important someone was. I wasn’t expecting anyone this vocal either. It only makes sense though. Thorson will have several fallouts with Di’Nomia, but his relationship with Storms remains. It’s the same with his sister, a mutual relationship in which both protect one another. It’s a constant, something very rare in my experiences. I probably didn’t even have to interview him. His love is so blatantly obvious that even Celestia couldn’t deny it.

Perhaps Celestia defined love in a very limited way. Love might be beyond the comprehension levels of gods. I could theorize all day.
I do know that the little survey did reconfirm my own ideals though.
I may never find the affections of another again or even have the warmth of a pseudo family.
But I do know my devotion to this world has to be love. I’ve always known I must protect it. That is a fact that Celestia cannot take away from me.

In the end, it seems, I remain painfully human.
