This was meant to be part of a much larger image, but everything else ended up looking awful. But at least this part turned out half-decent!

Actually, I found that deviation interesting. As I said once, I like your style. And if I had a word to describe it, I would say "warm" (not only because of your choice of colours).
I'm not into "artsy-talk" but what interested me is that weird feeling that portrait throws. It is "warm" of course, but her gaze is really cold.
Maybe that is what bothers you?

Oh my! this looks SOOO good! the face is sooo adorable! Since you requested a critique, I'll add that the neck may need to be more fleshed out, but I really do love it! the freckles are just perfect ^_^
