Also, I've got a bit of hope for Guildsman to redeem himself and the Ultramarines as interesting characters. He seems to be put in a position as a reflection of the Emperor himself, but not in a way that seems to make him more OP (mostly).

They nerfed Grandpa Smurf a notch in the Dark Imperium series, that's for sure. And the fact that he needs to unfuck the Imperium's dire situation and unstupid the Imperium's citizens.
