I draw a lot of portraits but I realised that I don't really use references and that's been stopping me from improving. So I'm gonna be doing some studies yay! This one is a study of an oil painting by John Larriva. Fucked up the colours (like always), but I had a lotta fun with this.Related content

Amazing!! I love the way you blend colors <3 One thing that I think may improve it even further is simply changing the background's color (if you'd like) to something that would contrast the girl you drew, for example a greyish light blue, or any cold color in general. :0

There are many amazing artists here on dA that are really big inspirations, but when you start looking at the paintings of master painters whose works have outlived generations, there's something so breathtaking about it. I've been gathering myself a little folder of paintings that I want to do master studies of hehe! So much I want to do, so little time in the day. Have you tried master studies?
