It's interesting how in each timeline involves The Mane 6 slowly moving apart in this Reality Rainbow and Pinkie are the only ones out of the group that know each other and because the boom didn't happen they seemed to have taken another path in life (joining the army) Rarity is making army suits instead of dresses so at best they barely knows she exists. Twilight and Applejack and Fluttershy are completely out of the equation.
another thing just seeing which villians come out on top depending one which set of friends know each other or don't know each other kinda shows how far they can get without the whole group. With just Pinkie and Rainbow, The defeated Nightmare Moon (probably got her banished again since they didn't have the power to cleanse her) they could also defeat Discord (probably took longer and made a different choice) they could beat the Changelings but Sombra they couldn't defeat.
