Caligari was from another company, although the name escapes me.
Also, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was an MGM movie.

I would drool on it, keep the original away from my mouth. I have restarted inking a massive monster shot too, the pencils have been lying around for a mummy's age!

Oh man! I look forward to (assuming that at some point some grave robber will break into that mummy's crypt and expose those ancient remnants to the modern world) seeing them.

What software do you need to make art like this?

The characters I listed are in the public domain, as for their looks and makeup, Universal still has copyright over all of them. Especially Fankenstein, Wolfman, Mummy, Phantom, and the Creature. And Hyde was Paramount Studios btw. LOL. GREAT JOB!

Caligari is German. Just letting you know. And Dracula, Frankenstein, The Phantom, Mr. Hyde, and Caligari are all in the public domain. The rest are not. Especially the Invisible Man. In the film League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, they had to change his name due to copyright laws, yet in the graphic novels, it's the original one, aka Griffin.

I imagine them with subtle video-game animation (like rising and falling shoulders, head, arms), and it's some sort of selection screen to pick which character to use for the next level/fight. I would chose swamp creature

Nice.
I am thinking Dr. Caligari is public domain. I believe it's on the Internet Archive.

I was helping someone out who was studying German expressionism a couple of years ago, and I think she watched it on there. Probably the most famous example of the filmmaking movement.
