Description British Rail Class 52 Western Courier approaches her train at Bewdley station during the Severn Valley Railway's Diesel Gala in October 2011. In fact we're looking at the eastern approach to the station here, but given the loco's name and what she was doing, I simply couldn't resist this title! An impressive display of semaphores rounds off the busy scene.

Westerns, one of my favourite locomotives... Those are some really awesome diesel locomotives... and their noise... and clags... oh, how wonderful!

Not really. CP 1930s will always be my real fave ones.

You was at the SVR diesel gala too? I was there on Saturday but all my pictures came out rubbish, the light was really terrible that day, overcast and shadowless so I didnt bother to stick the shots on here.

Yes, I had some free time at the end of that week. As it happens I was otherwise engaged on the Saturday, but I did get to Bewdley on the Thursday (as seen here) and, rather more briefly, to Bridgnorth on the Friday.

It certainly is a busy scene - one of those where there is so much to see, and you can keep finding extra goodies as you look around it. And a nice wide view too.

Thank you. It was taken from the station footbridge, which does give a pretty decent view of what's going on.
