Description ALSO AVAILABLE IN GERMAN HERE: [link]

Part #2 Part #1 about gradient painting can be found here: [link]

Not much to tell here, I bet I made like a hundred mistakes in there.. ugh.. Any questions? Just ask Also, please refer to this Tutorial (or to my DA URL) if you use this technique, Thanks!

... as promised, probably doing a few more, following the Poll I have up

Oh and before I forget it.. THIS IS JUST A BASE, a fast way to get the shadings on your paintings done, it probably takes a lot more steps to be added there, until you have a final painted and detailed result.

Cheers! for this. Was very handy. Used here [link] for the first time, but there's other stuff I'm working on right now using techniques learned from this tutorial.

Where it says "overwork the areas of your merged image", what's the end of that sentence?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lizkay In reply to Geminii27 [2009-11-03 20:53:50 +0000 UTC]

hmm, I think it says, 'there are a lot edges that need work" it mainly describes the step of overpainting the areas that don't fit together too well

Photoshop offers a lot tricks like that ..
badly the program is even after working so many years with it, still so complex... all you need to do is find the things out

Lizkay In reply to edgejr [2008-09-11 06:06:17 +0000 UTC]

I do my car paintings the same way I just leave the sketch lines on it (just a matter of style though, I do love rough lines...)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

edgejr In reply to Lizkay [2008-09-12 00:48:21 +0000 UTC]

hehe me too i luv those rough lines
yeah but tahts good you explained the shinny stuff just i have a cuestion, how you do thise "reflexions" of light there are like whity stuff like the ones on the mustang

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Lizkay In reply to edgejr [2008-09-13 10:43:44 +0000 UTC]

the heavy white reflections are simply done with a small brush in photoshop around 30% opacity and painted on the softer white reflections are done like here, with a selection and the gradient tool.

Masks are great! It makes shading so much easier (and faster to work with) I love to use them!

Wonderful! very easy to understand. Thank you for the tutorial.

There is one mistake that I see. The last part of your text next to the smudge tool Image is blocked by the next image. (about 15 images down from the top) "... you will see there are a lot.."

That one is already in the works ... Illustrator is a bit more complex, or at least I need to make a lot more screenshots than for the photoshop explanations.

Thanks!!
