Description Fujimoto's got a bazillion fish babies - I guess that's what you get for marrying Mother Ocean This was drawn while I should have been doing 20 other things lol.

This was done using all traditional means - those lil cut and stick on tones (old school style) on top of pencil and ink. It was hard to tone this cause it was so small (drawing is only like 5 x 3" big). But my tones are getting old so I wanted to use some up before they lose their sticky. X3 I used Photoshop for levels adjust / add logo.

I really like the textures, so I'm glad you used those little cut and stick on tones. It's such a peaceful scene--out with his daughters playing and him relaxing. I'm astonished you got so much detail in such a small canvas! My favourite daughters are the ones splashing each other.

Have I seriously not commented on this before? Well, now I am. The textures, for one, are so innovative and original! And look great - the hair especially. Love the cheekbones here, too. Always gets me.

It's what little tone paper I had, I'm glad you like the textures! I need to do more with tones they are an interesting medium.

I really appreciate the use of traditional tones for the piece, and the gentle expression on his face as Ponyo and her brethren splash around him. Super cute work, elegant lines.

Weeeee! LOL yes go see it in theaters if you can it's a big screen movie! The visuals are awesome for us 2D animation lovers! If you can believe it there were only 10,000 some drawings less than the epic Steamboy movie which had like 180,000 drawings (from the director of Akira) if that says anything about how intricate and rich the animation is.

I love how "Howl" was supposed to be his last film but then he made this and is like "oh I guess I can do some more" XD But he is worried the movies will grow stale if he doesn't appoint new producers and directors for fresh blood. I say older movie directors have more experience! XD

Never! His movies are, well when they're released anyways, the high light of my year! They're always so creative and colorful ^^

We can only hope his next movie is as cute and ham based lol And OMG Ponyo's mom, the way they first introduced her was sooooooo cool, like, stunningly pretty; loved the pile ships heheh :3

Hehe thanks X3 tones are fun. You DO >( ...like everyone should be required to see all the Studio Ghibli movies even. I am bad I still have not seen one or two, and had not seen Naussica till I was at Duckie's a few months ago X3 It rocked tho!
