My feet. taken with a digital camera on a timer xDI sometimes see photos of pointe shoes on here that are just ridiculous... I don't think they know anything about the actual technique of ballet, nor do they even know how to tie the dang shoe right xD so that's what made me want to put a picture up. Plus I liked the light shining through :B

great photo, but if you don't do ballet or pointe, you really shouldn't attempt pointe, because it can be very dangerous and you can seriously injure yourself without proper training.

I danced ballet for 14 years lol. I am fully aware of how dangerous it is for people to mess around with pointe shoes without any training. I wasn't trying to do any kind of technical position for this photo, was just messing around trying to take cool pictures of my feet. So thanks for your concern but at the time this photo was taken I was dancing 6-8 hours a week...

Man, I know what you mean. Some of the pictures I have seen on here have such bad technique, the person looks like they are going to break their ankles. Love your picture, though! The lighting is beautiful.

Yay! Technique! This is a beautiful shot and your feet are gorgeous. I agree, I am a dancer too and all too often I see pictures of people en pointe that leave much to be desired. Thanks for posting this!

I'm working towards pointe, and I'm going to take a workshop this summer specifically for that purpose of getting onto pointe.
And I agree...a lot of ballet pictures here are...placement and technique wise, all over the place, and it REALLY bothers me...one of these days when I get the time I'm going to make a tutorial on how to draw ballet dancers (male and female) flat AND on pointe, they're so easy if you just know the basics of ballet!

i'm still working towards pointe (nearly there) but even i know what a good pointe is. some of the photos look great but have their feet just hanging there flexed! THAT reeeaaally annoys me!!

See, unfortunately I can see me being one who goes 'weee I can stand on my toes!' as I am just about to start. I have been up on them when I got them fitted and I was told I wasn't leaning forwards enough. But I guess I'll learn. Lovely lighting, silhouette effect is great! Faving.

oh no worries, just about everyone isnt the greatest when they first get en pointe. i sucked lol. just listen to whatever corrections you get and apply them as much as possible, and youll improve in no time

quick random question for you. i noticed in a comment to someone else, you mentioned you use bloch brand. the thing is, are they good for beginners? I'm just starting my pointe class next week.

sorry i took so long to reply! did you get fitted at a dance store? i started on them and they were fine, but everyone's feet are different so its best to get someone professional to get you fitted into the right shoe

yeah i started on blochs cuz i have widee feet too. i think theyre way more comfy than all the other shoes ive tried. anyway your feet look pretty good in that picture for just starting!

I agree, people are like "weeee, look at me! I can stand on my toes!!!" And they brag, and brag, and then you see them in class, and they completely blow.
My pet peeve is when they don't get on their boxes. *twitch* What Pointe shoes do you have?

Ugh I know! Blochs, eh? Aren't they soooo comfortable? I used to have Blochs, but my feet got too wide, so now I hvae some Cecilia Kerzech things, I'm not sure. But they're really easy to balance in so I'm good.

thats sweet, I'm not familiar with that type of shoe lol. Yeah I've never tried any other kind of shoe throughout my years of pointe just because I've never had any bad problems with the shoes and anytime I go to get fitted they always say they're a good fit for me.
