Commission drawing by *FoxInShadow . I needed an artist who could draw 'dark' versions of MLP very well and he's always been really good at that! Illustrated above are the dark CMC (Cutie Mark Crusaders), who will be featured in my upcoming story: "The Price of Friendship".

From Left to Right:
The Outlaw Bad Apple - Apple Bloom's 'dark' future-self. Her cutie mark is a poisoned apple, to reflect how Apple Bloom became a 'bad apple' after the death of both her big brother and sister. In the turmoil that followed during the Dark Days of Equestria, she did her best to look after everyone. However, after losing her eye saving a non-family member pony, she eventually took charge of the Apple Family and began only looking after her own family at the expense of the rest of Equestria. She was subsequently outlawed by the Canterlot Council prior to King Solace's rise to power.

Marchioness Sweet Belle - Sweetie Bell's 'dark' future-self. Cutie mark inspired from her following in both her sister's and Twilight Sparkle's hoof steps. After the death of the Mane Six, she threw herself into Twilight's library and locked herself away trying to continue to carry out their dream - by any means necessary. During her self-imposed studying exile, she became a master of dark magic and used it to great effect during the opening days of the Dark Time in Equestria. Having aged considerably, she has used her magic to extend her life and those of her two best friends Apple Bloom and Scootaloo, though such magic breaks the natural order of things and has had a visibly negative effect on Sweetie Bell, both in heart and mind. Her cutie mark is that of a pentagram, a symbol of protection in such dark times. It is only through her that General Roo and the Outlaw Bad Apple have been able to work together - albeit frailly.

General Roo - Scootaloo's 'dark' future-self. Scootaloo earned her cutie mark after witnessing the death of Rainbow Dash, which is that of several lightning bolts and a stormy cloud. As president of the Rainbow Dash club and a huge fan of her biggest idol, she took the death of the Mane Six the hardest. Her cutie mark represents her devotion to following after her idol's Footsteps (in this case the 'Loyalty Bolt') but after such a traumatic experience her heart is more 'clouded' and full of turmoil. She joined the Royal Canterlot Army - whom suffered greatly during the ongoing war - and through sheer tenacity eventually rose to the rank of General. She wears many armored 'braces' to reinforce her damaged spine, legs, and wings from the many battles she has participated in and bears a strong grudge against Apple Bloom due to the fact she abandoned them during their time of need.
