Why thank you. I've mostly exhausted the so-called "easy" shots...now I've got to build and/or buy stuff for the rest of the ideas on my list.

You're very welcome. I've been waiting for a long time for someone to color that picture.

I like to color things myself as well. Might I ask for some tips? I find it difficult to get a solid color while preserving that sketchy look like that blog is known for. How did you manage it?

I use Photoshop CS5, if any tips you have a specific to certain programs.

I used Gimp for it.

Basically I have the picture or more specifically, the sketch, taken as the lowest level. As the highest level, I drew upon the outline and lined it. I sat down and sketch lines between two planes. The lower of the two is used for all colors. This level is then multiplied to the sketch. Thus come out the basic strokes. The upper of the two levels is used for shadow effects. What is a mixture of black, white and gray actually. So the picture is not black and white, I have the shadow layer to "mixed fibers" is set. At the end you get an image that is colored and shaded, but still retains the charm of the pencil lines.
