Description I was having a look at Nix-Sil 's gallery and one of her character designs caught my eye. So I was like, yup, I'm gonna draw him. I took some liberties with the design a bit in adapting him into my style and for the composition of this pic (RIP the pattern on the cape, I looked at that and then looked at all the folds and waves in the material, and I was like, not today buddy – sorry about that Nix haha). So uh yeah that was fun! Hope you don't mind Nix. I love drawing other people's characters!

There are definitely some issues here, like, don't worry I'm just as confused as you are about that left arm. It seems like it comes out really far, but I checked the shoulder and arm placement against my reference photo like five times and it should be more or less correct? I think the actual issue is that maybe I haven't made the twisting motion of his torso obvious enough to make the shoulder placement look like it makes sense. I'm not sure though. Also, if anyone has some good reference material like photos or ideally a tutorial about drawing capes/cloaks, send em my way cause I had a lot of trouble finding one! Also his left elbow is a bit cooked lol. But I do like how the lines came out, esp on the face.

It's funny, after I finished the sketch I was like, ok boys, today I'm going to use thin lineart. (I did not use thin lineart)

Hm--not a lot negative to say, here honestly! You pretty much covered it all in the description (and I hadn't noticed the first time I saw this until I read the description anyway), so let's just move on to the positives.
First of all, anatomy is pretty spot-on, other than the hiccups you mentioned, and I like the subtle details in his arms and clothes--the effects look great, too! The somewhat "rougher" (for lack of a more fitting word) look really fits.
Lineart is excellently done too. So, like before, good job!

Oh no I absolutely do not mind at all, this is such a lovely surprise!! Thank you ahh - I realllly really love the entire composition of this and how dynamic this is and how much movement there is? Your style suits him so well and I don't mind your changes in the slightest, I super dig the way you handled the gloves/bracers *u* Honestly I love a lot of things in this from the sparks to the colored smoke to the movement in the cape and his pose and everything - thank you thank you!! <3

Ahh no worries Nix! So glad you like it! I just saw his design and I was like yeah I've gotta draw him. It was good fun and a nice opportunity to practice with a sword-wielding pose. I'm glad you like the gloves, I wasn't sure how to tackle them initially but it's good to hear you think it worked out! Thanks for your kind words :') :') :')
