To be honest, I thought this would be perfect for Jily in my crossover universe & my fan-made multi-fandom crossover series Misfit Characters: loving & caring though sometimes embarrassing parents to Harry. In said worlds, Lily and James are still alive & well & they got a chance to be grandparents to my fanon kids Chris & Serena (fav.me/d7yznhf ; fav.me/d85tyk3 , Harry's kids with Isabel Miravelez (from an old Filipino TV show called Ikaw Lamang:Β fav.me/d7jjd06 )).
As for their jobs in my worlds, I'm thinking of Lily being a news writer or journalist for the BBC or ITV/painter & James being a pediatrician (mostly because one of my maternal aunts is one)/budding photographer (that's Harry's dream job in both versions & there are avid photographers in both sides of my family).

Practice is the best way to learn, because if you draw and draw and draw a lot you kind of experiment until you get the drawings to look the way you want. If you don't know how to draw something (like say you want to draw someone sitting cross-legged on the floor); well, just look up a picture of someone doing that on Google, choose the best one, and copy it. You can freeform it OR use what I call the "Cinderella method", which is where you copy it EXACTLY, line. for. line, trusting that it will turn out right. I call it that because the first time I used it I was drawing someone wearing a Cinderella dress.

this is very beautiful. well I wrote a fanfic, Well, I wrote a fanfic, more or less with a story like that. Voldemort never came to kill his parents. was fun.
