Description The true pirate of the sea. A voracious predator, This dragon type spends most of it's life flying over the open sea and hiding in the clouds in an attempt to snag unsuspecting prey around it. It's able to use its snake like neck and needle like teeth to launch its head forward and grab a hold of anything that it can swallow, be it slippery sharks or acrobatic dragons. It's tongue and heat sensing pits helps it sense prey from several miles away. Although mostly solitary, the Snagon does clue in on it's own species in order to try and steal a meal.

Personal creature work I've been working on over the past few months. I had plans to do an anatomical breakdown, but figured I should move on to more interesting things.

If you want to see more of my work, including sketches, work in progresses, or whatever you can find me on.

I love the terrifying description of these guys, even though their faces are sooo precious ;w; Kind of like wolves or tigers, where I quietly baby-talk at them while, y'know, remaining safely separated by a very secure enclosure.

Now that's a beastly dragon. Nothing graceful or majestic about it. Reading over the bio of this Snagon, it's basically a giant, opportunistic seagull, and that's awesome. Well, I'm not sure how big it is since the only things to scale with it in this picture are other Snagons. Still, I always love it when the dragons actually look like ugly monsters. Too many dragons are portrayed as beautiful, awe-inspiring creatures, but this Snagon, he's a mook and he knows it. Despite reminding me of a pterosaur, its wings are bat-like, and its mouth is most certainly reptilian, if not outright demonic looking lol. Overall it's great seeing your works Lindsey, and this Snagon is certainly nothing to scoff at.

This might be one of the most alien dragon designs I've seen, like not space alien but strange.
Theres so many fascinating and logical anatomical choices that I cant recall seeing in any other dragons, it makes them so real but even more fantastical than your usual Drogons and Reign of Fire dragons.

I'd be VERY down to see the Snagon brought to rendered and animated in CG just to see how it would move and interact with the world.

Thank you! I've been contemplating sculpting this guy in Zbrush, it would be a very fun and challenging project to try.

Gosh, I can't help but wanting to call this dragon Sir Pinecone. It looks so happy... happy to get some noms. I particularly like that close up of their face at the bottom left corner.

You can if you want! The name Snagon is just a combo of "Snake and Dragon", so I can't take naming this creature too seriously.

I'd take it as a compliment, you've apparently created something they've never seen before, that is an achievement on its own

Thank you for that! I always find the weirder creatures more appealing to me, which is what I work towards in my art.
