An uke is the submissive partner in a yaoi or yuri relationship. It comes from the Japanese word ukeru, which means "to receive." Seme's the opposite. The dominate partner. It comes from semeru meaning "to attack." Basically the aggressor or initiator. Because ukes and semes have stereotypical ways of acting, a lot of yaoi/yuri fans refer to themselves as uke or seme even if they're straight. Ukes are quiet, shy and while they try to put up a fight, tend to give in easily. Semes are suave, demanding and always find a way to get what they want. That's why I made these stamps. For people who see themselves as either one. ^^
