Alice and the Hatter as Nick and Nora Charles !asked me to whip up a little something with these two in costume, and on short notice, this was all I really wanted to do. I LOVE The Thin Man series of movies, made in the, what, 40's? William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora, married crimesolvers perfectly matched in wit, cleverness and love of martinis.
My Alice isn't really recognizable enough on her own to be anything special, but Reggie makes a damn good Nick Charles.

omg i love this picture. Right now im on a Alice in wonderland crazy and Nick and Norah have to be two fo the best old movie criminals ever. lol i actually have two black cats their pretty old now, but we named them Nick and Norah cause he was slick and her hair was puffy. lol not sure if that was a good idea cause they did get into alot of stuff we never knew how they did it. lol anyways again awesome picture and very well done.

Nick and Nora DO sound exactly like Tommy and Tuppence! Now I have to watch the Thin Man films. Excpet Tommy and Tuppence weren't fond of martinis, I believe they liked highballs and some type of gin better.
And gorgeous picture, by the way. (Though with that mustache and nose, Reg looks like Hercule Poirot. "Cherie Alice, use your little grey cells!")

I've only seen snippets of the movies and can't really remember when I've seen them, but I'm sure that'll I'll get a hold of them again (somehow) to enjoy them in their entirety.
It's purdy, drawing Hatter and Alice in the style of the 40's era should be more frequent here on dA. I LOVE IT!

There isn't anything more fantastic than a fictional couple dressing up as another fictional couple, and being able to recognize who is doing what. This is beyond delicious. Excellent job.

Holy crap. There is an awesomeness to just the IDEA of this commission (I adore the The Thin Man). I think you're correct that Reggie has a bit more of his own flare than Alice but lovely job capturing their style of dress.
