I'm so confused,

Why are both Annie and Zoe powers going out of wack?

Furthermore why didn't this happen ealier in the fight when Zoe touched Tabiha?

(The next page was posted and it might explain, but) Although Annie and Tabitha have the same powers, they aren't exactly the same. Tabitha's powers were increased in a (at least so far) seemingly ideal way, while Annie had complications. The shape-shifter has an unstable body that allows her to become other people-- except other people with unstable bodies.

from the viral or infectious look on her face (the purplish red about the nose area) it looks like Annie might be dealing with something and Copy-Girl copied it along with her body . . . only she has even less clue what the heck it is and clearly even less chance of handling it as well . . .

Whatever it is, it seems to pack some whallop!

The shape-shifters powers are usually purple. The purple veins look is just to help show something is wrong with her. The issue here is that shape-shifters have unstable bodies, and it's bad if they try to become other people with unstable bodies (like Annie).

I love the subtle effect of the copy digging her fingers into the ground in panel 4.

And gotta say this is an interesting development. Without spoiling for anyone, I do remember Annie being lost in a vision for a while in the original, are we getting to your new version of that plotline now?

At some point. But kind of like when to introduce Grace, I haven't decided yet. I wanted to be careful to not introduce too many items too quickly.

The shape-shifter tried to become Annie, but couldn't. She questions Annie "what's wrong with you?", and then Annie falls over and returns to her natural body.
