Description
Let's see... it's been about 20 days since my wait for "The Last Airbender" ended. And now, a new year-long wait has been dumped on me!"Avatar: The Legend of Korra" will be coming out 2012.
Things that I'm excited about:
#1: It's a sequel that expands upon the universe created by Mike and Bryan.
#2: It focuses on a new cast of characters. (New opportunities to fall in love and new shipping opportunities!)
#3: Female main character!
#4: Cloudbaby proof: Tenzin in Aang and Katara's son and Korra's Airbending teacher. (Proof that Tenzin is Katara's son: [link] )
#5: BENDERS ON MOTORCYCLES!!!
#6: JK Simmons as Tenzin! XD ("I WANT PICTURES! PICTURES OF THE FIRELORD!!!")
#7: Korra being kick-ass!

Sorry but Korzin makes me wanna barf. The first time I saw the names I KNEW a few weirdos would try and pair them. I know they're different people each time they are reborned, but still the thought is just unsettling...

The whole age thing! It just creeps me out. A 112yr guy hitting on a 14yr old...Now I want to see a hilarious pic...Of when Sokka and Katara first brought Aang to their village, and Aang sees Gran-Gran and says, "Sup? *with a saucy expression*"...But anyway! She treats him like her son, and it reminds me of that one actor that married this lady that had an adopted infant...That infant grew up and he divorced the wife, and married his daughter....But seriously just ignore me I'm a total weirdie!

xD well hes still mentally 12- which i think is still pretty weird. a 12 and 14 year old. its only 2 years but when i was 14 i'd never hang out with a 12 year old, it just seems so young.

No, Avatars are not blood-related.
Blood relation is a physical thing, and none of the Avatars are physically related.
Its even a stretch to say they are spiritually related since the each Avatar's spirit seems to hang out in the Spirit World, and each Avatar retains his or her personality in the Spirit World.

It didn't until I saw this. I've been watching Doctor Who non-stop for the past few weeks (I was in the middle of Series 5, The Eleventh Doctor) when I saw this. So he was fresh in my mind.
I wonder if The Doctor influenced Avatar as well.

Yes, it is. The Doctor describes his changes like dying. Everything his is dies, and after the change, it's a new person who walks away. The old Doctor is gone. Not exactly like the Avatar process, but incredibly similar. At their core, they share the same traits across all versions, but the details are wildly different. Race, gender, age, skills, interests, quirks, everything changes.

It's almost like the powers that be wish to make amends for the massive clusterfuck that was the movie. I sincerely hope the live action film will be soon forgotten and left to rot in a cesspool once this comes out.

but i have to agree, really excited about this. (i'm just slightly disappointed that she already knows three elements and there's no struggle of learning them)

I'm really excited to watch the new series but sad as well. I was always Zutara but oh well. I like how they made it a female lead this time. The women on the original are really strong characters which is nice to watch. Do you know when it'll be out?

There is no specific date yet. All we know is that it will be in 2011.
*huggles* I'm sorry about Zutara. Maybe it will make you feel better if you realize that if Zutara was canon, there wouldn't be nearly as much fanart and fanfiction about it.
Canon couples are always, always over looked when it comes to the fandom. There are no exceptions.

Lol. I realize that in the show it goes more smoothly for Kataang. The Fire Nation would have never accepted Katara, anyway. ^_^ I'm hoping to see Zuko babies though!
I can't wait for it to come out. My friend and I are speculating already as to who Korra will end up with. A little early, I know.

Right now, my smart money is either on one of Zuko's descendents... (son or grandson)... or one of Tenzin's unknown children.
That's how you really know you are crazy... when you start shipping a character with another character that may not even exist...

That's exactly what I was thinking! I doubt it'd be his son though. Granted some people wouldn't mind the age difference, but a lot of people would object. Zuko's son and Tenzen will be at least 40 possibly 50 and Korra is still a teen, if I recall correctly. So I'm betting on Zuko's grandson or another Firebender to appease the Zutarians. Tenzin's possible children are also an option but doubtful. It's too similar to the last series. They'll want a change.

I've always had a weird-scary ability to pick canon couples really easily. (I knew Kataang would be canon from Episode 1, if you'll believe it...)
So, I'll start watching and hopefully I'll make a canon couple prediction pretty early and prove my abilities!
