Native American witches and shamans that use black magic to turn into animals by wearing the pelt of the desired animal they want to turn into
Skinwalkers are pure evil, they use their powers for malevolent reasons

There are no nice Skinwalkers, as far as we and the Native Americans know
They'll put curses on you
If you're a Rancher, they'll kill all your Livestock because they don't like people like that on their land
In worst case scenarios, they'll mimic the voice of someone you know with most of the time perfect accuracy and lead you somewhere where nobody can hear you scream and murder you and no one will ever find your body, and if someone does, they'll just find what's left
Or they'll do that to someone you love
You can't kill them either, least not while they're in animal form
Also apparently they can also possess your body if you stare into their eyes long enough and

Also I forgot to mention this
They can also pretty much turn into a Were-animal, they don't have to turn into the full animal, like something in-between man and animal, and they can also distort the form they turn into and look like this disturbing mangled abomination, they probably do that to scare the fuck out of people, or they're new to transformation and just haven't mastered making a convincing form
A Skinwalker transformation also has flaws that can give it away
a dog or coyote or any animal with a tail, without a tail or trace of a tail is one of dead giveaways of a Skinwalker in disguise
And there's stuff like if you see a deer or a dog walking on its hind legs like a person, obvious giveaway, or just animals just doing things out the ordinary

Well, Skinwalker IS the term for them, least for us Non-N.A. folk
The actual name the Native Americans call them is Yeenaldooshi (Yen-nal-do-she) which translates to "He who walks on all fours" infact, Native Americans wont even say that name as, supposedly speakin their name attracts them to you and makes them even more powerful
