My eyebrows may not be perfectly arched,My lips might look a little too parched,
My eyes could hold a tad too much fear,
My looks may not land me a modeling career,
My clothing sometimes doesnβt follow the trend,
My personality, you may not comprehend,
My fingernail polish might slightly be chipped,
My life may not follow the teenager script,
My skin tone may seem a little too pale,
My habits might make me appear rather frail,
However, Iβd rather be ugly through and through,
If perfect meant I was just like you.

You and me both, pal! People never openly called me ugly, but if they are going to tell you how to dress, style your hair, or insist on a little make up, they might as well be! I so f***ing hate that! Especially when they tell you it's to impress someone. I'd rather be ugly and hated by the world than be beautiful and loved for a damn allusion!

I love this. I think anyone can relate to this, which begs the question: "What is ugly and what is beautiful?"

Would it not be nice if all uniqueness went hand in hand with beauty? But, as the world's clockwork ticks in cruel, thus indifferent ways, that is not the case. People that are not born with a certain classical attractiveness - I would not consider me an exception - often struggle to become outstanding due to their talents, their manner, their deviation from what is regarded as the average; nevertheless, their appearance remains. They, no, we may achieve great and most marvellous things, but we will perpetually be bound to our faces, our limbs, our bodies. A genius with a hideous face may impress those with lesser intellect, an artist with a hideous face may affect the heart of his fans, and an orator with a hideous face may stir his adience's inmost; but they all are discomforting to behold in habitus, despite their art and splendour. Yet those with outer beauty need not fear their surroundings' profound contempt, for, not even if they are empty and foolish and ridiculous, their superficial handsomeness remains untouched. That is a tragedy.

so very true... society seems to have a habit of setting standards... personally... i've never thought totally fake was anywhere near pretty... like at all... it's kind of disturbing... in a way...
it's actually concepts like that which create serial killers... so when one of those psychos pops up and has killed a whole mess of people? society has no one to blame but itself...
