Reason of death:
Being socially awkward and handicapped (lost his right eye and part of right arm in a car accident), people distanced themselves from Rev no matter at home or at school. He was always excluded from events because he was “weird”. Rev didn’t really mind being isolated from others, because he knew that he didn’t require friends, and all he needed was the one person that truly cared about him and loved him: his grandmother. So pathetic

Even if his parents were busy with work and couldn’t return home, he wrote letters back and forth to his grandmother, who lived up in the mountains. He felt that she was the only person whom really felt that his existence was of importance, no matter how small it may be. Ever since he could remember, his grandmother had sent a box of home-grown clementine mandarins for him every winter around his birthday. Her clementine mandarins were always so sweet, they made his insecurities go away.

One winter, on his 16th birthday, Rev waited for his grandmother’s clementine mandarins; they never arrived. Worried about his grandmother, he set out to the mountains and attempted to visit her regardless of the snowstorm outside. When he finally arrived at the mountains and was just a short distance away from Grandma’s, he heard a slight cracking sound behind him. Thinking it was his imagination, he kept on trotting in the general direction of Grandma’s house. The cracking sound behind him increased and became more apparent as he walked on; he turned around to look at what the matter was after he heard a thundering crash near him. After he did so, all he could see was globs of white, and then the snow flew into his face and the light slowly faded from his consciousness.

In his last moments, he recalled that he was very, very cold, and had wished to eat his grandmother’s clementine oranges again, because they filled him with warmth. His final regret was not being able to reunite with his grandmother.

A few days later, a rescue team was sent out to the area to scavenge for survivors or possible victims of the avalanche. They found Rev’s frozen corpse buried under the snow, his lifeless eyes staring soullessly off into the distance. They also found the corpse of an old lady, hidden in a snow-filled house in the area, whom appeared to have died of natural causes prior to the avalanche.
