Description
Our story begins over 20 years ago, at a place called the Saint Agnis Home for Wayward Boys. One rainy night, a mysterious bestial woman emerges from the forest with an infant in her arms. She would leave the infant on the doorstep of the home with a note that simply contained his name..”Thelonious Alister Wolfgang”. The young Theo was taken in by the nuns of Saint Agnis, who would raise him with a stern coldness and apathy.

Luckily for young Theo, he was not alone at the home. He quickly formed a friendship with sickly boy named Drake Depeche. Drake was discovered by the nuns within a ruined church..his mother had died in childbirth. He too was taken in, but was kept separate from the other children due to his unique needs. Drake is a Strigoi, a creature that’s the result of hybridization between a human and subterranean monsters known as Vampyres. As a Strigoi, Drake is unable to generate the necessary ingredients to form healthy blood, resulting in sensitive pale skin and a condition similar to Anemia. Without regular blood transfusions, Drake falls into a hungry, feral state in which he seeks out the iron rich vital organs of the living. Due to this, he’s kept in the Crypt of Saint Agnis to avoid attacks on other residents. With all this time to himself, Drake developed impressive engineering and electronic skills.

In an attempt to find some levity in their situation, Theo and Drake came up with the idea to hold a seance. What they didn’t realize was that the seance would actually work, resulting in an entity being summoned before them...a demonic looking child, seemingly excited to have been called. “Hey dudes! I’m Abaddon, Daemonii Prince of the Cleansing...wanna hang out?” In utter shock, the two accept Abaddon’s offer to join them. Abaddon would quickly grow attached to his new friends...where he comes from, real friends are hard to find. He would elect to stay on Earth, taking on a human form to keep from being discovered by the nuns.

Abaddon would arrive just in time, as there was yet another mystery at Saint Agnis...children were going missing, eventually found dead from unknown causes. Each time, the three catch a glimpse of a figure darting out of sight. Pursuing the figure, they soon corner it in the chapel..only to find a scared, phantom-like child. Assuring the child no harm, they begin to learn who and what has caused all this...death itself. Specifically, the 21st century’s incarnation of Thanatos, an Aethereal responsible for freeing spirits from their bodies upon their death. This version of death, dubbed “Mourner”, is unhappy with the role he was created for, resulting in him fleeing his realm and hiding amongst the living. For his actions, Mourner was outcasted by the other Death entities and forced to remain on Earth. Luckily for Mourner, the three boys are happy to bring him in to their odd family.

Upon coming of age, the boys were free to leave Saint Agnis and make their way in the world. Unsure of what to do next, they fell back to their favorite pass time as children...music. They would use what resources they could find to gather up some instruments. Theo had a naturally powerful voice, becoming the singer. Abaddon had Daemonii battle axe that he converted into a bass guitar. Drake built himself a drum set and amplifiers. Mourner conjured a Jet Black guitar. They practiced day and night, eventually becoming confident enough to do a show. Their grungy, heavy sound was a hit with audiences, encouraging them to brand themselves as the heavy metal sensation, “The Deadmen”. This proved to be an excellent avenue for them, able to go on stage the way they look, as their fans believe they’re just wearing makeup.

For Theo however, things are beginning to become difficult for him. He’s been undergoing a gradual change, his bones and muscles stretching, his senses sharpening, sharp teeth and claws sprouting...Theo is becoming more beastly by the day. It turns out that, unbeknownst to Theo, he isn’t exactly human. He’s a Lycanthrope. Lycanthropy is the result of heritage, originating from 3 family groups in ancient times that were transformed into wolf-like bipeds by the Daemonii Princess Calypso to serve as her agents. However, the independent spirit within the Lycanthropes lead to them freeing themselves from the influence of Calypso, becoming their own entity. Theo is the son of two purebred Lycanthropes, who made the choice to abandon him in hopes that he would be able have a life free of persecution and danger. Now that Theo has reached adulthood however, he’s transitioning into his true form. Eventually, he will become a full form Lycanthrope, never to return. This is a slow, painful process that makes it difficult for Theo to focus on anything. To take his mind off of things, he chose to use his newfound abilities to protect people and attempt to make the world a safer place. He’s joined in his crusade by the others, becoming street level defenders and combatants of the supernatural.
