Description From Silverline City, the third Gym Leader of Dyrona, Basil, "The Draconian Fanatic!"

Basil's appearance is probably not the kind one would expect from a Dragon trainer. What he lacks in grace and charisma he makes up for in knowledge of Dragon-type Pokemon. He's obsessed with dragons, so he spends a lot of his time studying about them, whether in old books or online. Once he starts talking about his favorite subject, it's hard to get him to stop. He aspires to become a great Dragon master like Lance or Clair one day.

Basil's gym is flooded and decorated with dragon-shaped fountains. By pressing special switches, you can make bridges rise and fall out of the water, allowing you to proceed from one platform to the next. The arrangement of bridges, platforms, trainers, and switches might make this tricky, though. Pass the flooded maze, however, and all that will stand between you and the Serpent Badge and the TM containing the powerful attack "Slay" are Basil and his team.

Speaking of which, his Pokemon are Eggbe and Draculisk. Eggbe shouldn't be too big of a problem since it's an unevolved Normal-type, but Draculisk is another story. You're unlikely to have any Ice-type attacks at this point, and using a Pipshreek to exploit Draculisk's weakness to Dragon-type attacks would be very risky. Your best bet is probably to use a Rock-type Pokemon for attacking and defending.

Before battle: "Welcome, trainer, to the Silverline Gym! I am its Leader, Basil! ......What? You expected somebody different? Hey, nobody in Dyrona knows more about Dragon-type Pokemon than me, okay? Dragon-type Pokemon are the best! So strong, so elegant, and they have few weaknesses! Hehehe... And now you're about to witness their greatness firsthand!"

During battle: "Such magnificence! You are awestruck by the wonder of Dragons, am I correct?" "I haven't even shown you the extent of their power yet!" "Ohhh! What would a Dragon Tamer do at times like these...?"

Defeated: "Can it be...? My calculations were incorrect...!" "Incredible! You managed to slay the Dragons! Surely since you could do that, there's no foe you can't take down! ...Well, that's my hypothesis, anyway. At any rate, you've proven yourself worthy! Trainer, I bestow upon you...the Serpent Badge!!" "...Hmm. If you wish to continue your quest, this might come in handy, too. 'Slay' is one of my favorite techniques! It does even more damage if the enemy's already weakened! Sigh... It's just a shame not many Pokemon can learn it..."

After battle: "Have you heard of the Dragon cousins, Lance and Clair? They live over in Johto. Those two are my idols! I want to meet them one day so I can learn more about the secrets of Dragon-type Pokemon. Hmm, do you think they'd like my dragon fountains?"

I realy like this guy. H's like the stereotype RPG nerd, it works realy well with dragon types. Also, wow! Dragons in the third gym!

Hm, that's a unusual Dragon-type Gym Leader! And I like how he avoid all the stereotypic that we have about "Dragon Tamers" like lance or Clair.
He Gym's puzzle remind me a bit Clair's, just a bit.
And even don't have "the" attack to finish him off, with a well-balanced team + items and the Rock-type, it'll be a nice battle to do (even more after a harsh one against Paulson).

I think the gym maze sounds a bit more like Wake's gym.

Cool! Like ShortCatt said, it's great to see a different kind of dragon trainer and very early in the game.

Bowties ar cool! Also, it's really refreshing to see a different kind of Dragon trainer, and so early in the game too. I guess that's what you were going for with this, and it really works!

Looking forward to seeing more Gym Leaders!

i'm pretty sure clair and lance are siblings, not cousins. that aside this is really cool, it's definetly not what you'd expect from a dragon user like you said, and the arts good to, well done
