Utterly. How gothic, looking out the castle windows out at the north sea...

The day after I climb d Ben Nevis I went to the Isle Of Skye. I found it hurt more to walk down hill than up hill.Β

Is that where Skara Brae and the Callanish stone circles are located ? I guess it's a long ferry ride to Isle of Skye ?Β
Have you done some shooting in Ireland ? I took a bunch of stone circle pics (Lough Gur, etc.) in Kerry and Cork.

Ah
well Callanish is on the Isle of Lewis in the outer hebridesΒ
Skara Brae is on Orkney which is a different set of islands
you can go by ferry to Skye from a couple of places
it's not that far really
they have built a bridge from the mainland now which is from Kyle of Localsh
I have never been to IrelandΒ Β

Β The word "beautiful" is not the right one!Β You must look for powerful adjectives!Β Breathtaking citadel?Β Lord of the Rings' winter residence? The giddy cliff castle?

Among all those Adjectives I find these ruins beautiful. There are many to be found as a result of either the reformation or the civil war among other things.Β
I find them all to be beautiful.......almost the more ruined the better.Β
Une forteresse magnifique ?Β

Β Castles in ruins are so evocating of a dark and bright past story... You may sit and dream, ... Impossible to dream at Trafalgar square, or Place de la Concorde
Β in ParisΒ ...intra muros! I have a special passion for the french Cathar castles, called "citadelles du vertige"...A unic strenghenned site in Europ.
