Description "Four marks coming in at one-oh-nine, Commodore!" shouted Lieutenant Vraiz from the pit below. Two X-Wings and two Y-Wings streaked by the bridge tower and fired their torpedoes. A huge fireball erupted from the armored hull of the Star Destroyer Pursuant, shaking the deck. Commodore Altori shouted back down.

"Put us back on course, and I don't want anything coming near the bridge!" she bellowed as she pointed to Vraiz. "Intensify the cover fire as well! Put those gun crews on their highest alert!!"

"Yes, Commodore!" Vraiz responded. Line Captain Daerl Solm walked briskly down the walkway between the two control pits and looked out of the curved viewports to see the damage below.

"Blast it! Commodore, they've shot out one of our main batteries!"

"Repair crews to the portside gunnery bays!" Vraiz barked, pointing at one of the technicians who coordinated the repair work during battle. "Sir, engineers report main batteries will be back up in no less than two minutes!"

"Damn good work!" Altori told him as she turned around and looked at the smarmy civilian who stood behind her, leaning against the wall. "I’m sure that this is all so absolutely pointless to you, Mister Sunstorm."

"Never, Commodore, never," answered Faydor Sunstorm. He smoothed his moustache down and smiled. "I'm honored to watch you command. It's a lucky man who’s allowed to stand behind you."

"I'd like to blast you into space," she shot back. "But, seeing as I need you, I’ll have to weather your annoyance."

"What is it about fiery women I love?" Sunstorm asked rhetorically, making Altori roll her eyes in frustration. The man was incorrigible, disgusting, and altogether useless. He'd neither stopped being slimy scum, nor delivered to her the location of the Rebels.

"Though, if you do need me as much as you say," the bounty hunter added as he began walking from the bridge, "You know where my ship is. I'll chill a bottle of brandy and leave out an extra glass." He walked out, making a pair of lieutenants step aside so that he could pass. Altori glared then looked back over her shoulder to Line Captain Solm.

"Is it against regulations to dump his ship with the refuse?" she asked. Solm was at a loss for words.

That guy leaning against the bulkhead reminds me of Q from Star Trek; completely unperturbed even when surrounded by complete chaos.

Hehe. I can kinda see it. He really doesn't care that things are blowing up right outside.

Pretty cool little story and a pretty cool picture.

I'd say more but the guy Who posted before me basically summed how great this is.

Yeah, very well done. Very interesting little scene going down here. The short story with it is good, but is that part of a larger story?
I just love the wide array of emotions going on... the smug bounty hunter enjoying himself, the pissed off (yet strangely attractive) commander, and that guy by the window going "Uh, hate to interrupt but... have you looked out the window?"
Very nice.

You were really on the ball with the different expressions I was going for. Thank you so much for the kind words, and I'll pass the compliments on the story onto my boyfriend. We've really just started an actual ongoing story with our Star Wars characters, too.

This deserves more comments. >:C It's well-done, especially the bridge background.

You have my deepest thanks. The bridge... ahi, that's what took all the time, too!
