still using my beta version with FF34 - newer versions sadly destroy a lot. Still planing for get it done somehow.
Here is my current version, if you want to use it with FF34:

Unzip it and place the extracted folder inside your extensions folder.

Hi there,
unfortunately, it doesn't work in my system. I tried versions 33 up to 36. The screeshot says it all. ;(

That is exciting!!! Are you going to restore the original back-forward and reload buttons, too? Will it be retina-ized?

Looking forward to it! I'm particularly looking forward to a theme that restores the Firefox Titlebar to a reasonable reduced height and with the buttons on the titlebar in the proper place at the top (as in the old grapple/crapple themes). I've been struggling along with Classic Theme Restorer, but it never really looks like a good, integrated design.

Dear Dominic, I'd like to thank you (and Aronnax) for creating and supporting the Crapple theme for so long. It was great whilst it lasted but I guess all good things come to an end.
FWIW I have now come up with a workaround which at least works and looks fairly Safariesque. Forgive the long post but the directions are as follows:
You will need:
Firefox 29 and up,
and the following Plug-ins:
Classic Theme Restorer
Status-4-Evar
Stylish
Classic Theme Restorer Prefs:
Squared tabs
Tabs not on top
Firefox titlebar (unchecked)
Small buttons (checked, then amend when customising menu)
Movable back-forward button (checked)
Green/blue identity box (checked)
Hide tabs toolbar with one tab (checked)
Hide add-on bar's close button (checked)
Status-4-Evar Prefs:
Show progress in status bar (checked)
Linestyle: Full
Custom style: White with blue loadingbar.png* (save file in ~library/application support/mozilla)
Always show download status button (checked, then copy icon on to add-on bar)
Enable legacy status bar support (unchecked)
*You can download the loadingbar.png from here: postimg.org/image/wys16oxhb
Stylish:
Create the following scripts
Hide Favicons on Bookmark Bar
#personal-bookmarks .toolbarbutton-icon { display: none !important; }
Hide Favicons on Tabs
.tabbrowser-tabs .tab-icon-image { display: none !important; }
Hide Tab Throbber
.tab-throbber { display: none !important }
Customise toolbar:
Make small icons normal again
Drag 'status text' and 'download status' button to add-on bar and hide the old status bar
Drag the new tab button to the far right of the tab bar
I hope this is of some help to others.
Steve.

Actually (in contrast to what muelman says) I'd say this is the perfect time to update Crapple! For a while, Grapple/Crapple and the default FX theme with small icons were pretty similar--I think that's part of the reason Arronax abandoned the theme. Now, Australis has replaced a sensible design with small, hard-to-press buttons that nevertheless go along with bulky toolbars that take up unnecessary vertical space. So, Crapple would be the perfect theme to make Firefox usable again--not to mention the ability to have tabs on the bottom. How about it???

Fair enough...but as for it "not being dead", I tried it on FX 29+ and it definitely didn't work. Have you tried it successfully on an FX version with Australis?

Oh well, guess it's finally good bye to a great theme now. Fortunately, in my view; Australis is indeed a great improvement for Firefox @ OS X.
I for one have gone themeless, with a combination of status-4-evar, classic theme restorer and a handfull of things extracted from CrApple insertet into userChrome.css.
Time to stop internally complaining about all the things that Yummy broke and nostaligacally remember it as the one thing that has kept me from switching to chrome *shudder* all the time since Fx 3.5.
Thank you Aronnax for creating, and Dominic for maintaing all the time

I know of that. I downgraded to 25.0.1 atm, because I want my old-school downloads window. Mozilla is going to make me scream more and more. Don't know what they're thinking :/
I already have a huge list of CrApple ToDos, but absolutely no time to deal with them. Sometime in January maybe.
Until then, the only advise I can give you: remove the dl-button from the toolbar and hit cmd+j to view your downloads.

Well we couldn't go too long without another problem right?
There are toolbar problems with FF 20.0 and latest CrApple
When you preview (customize) the toolbar it looks ok, but then there's problems with the download, favorites and history buttons
Hope you can address soon! CrApple is King

ah specifically the toolbar is screwed up when the download button (which now seems to have new 'progress' functionality in 20.0) is present in the toolbar.
Remove it and CrApple seems ok otherwise...any chance of a fix?

I know about that but it is a bit tricky and I don't have the time atm.
I advise you to use the old version of status-4-evar until then.

Many, many thanks for this - the FF native Apple theme is horrible. Good call with the version number - every new FF release has me in UI-ugliness-misery 'til I can find an update or patch CrApple, and it does get tedious!
