Description
A creature from Dragonia, my bronze-age fantasy world; jerns are the largest species of carnivorous ungulates found in western Dragonia, and the only ones that live outside Vorran Peninsula where they originate, instead they've adapted to life in the Vurakesen Mountains that separate the peninsula from the rest of the continent. They specialize in hunting jukner goats in the mountains, as they are among the few animals that are fast and sure-footed enough to chase them across rugged terrain with ease, and use their powerful bite to bring their prey down once caught up with it.
The Utels inhabiting Ela'k Forest north of the Vurakesen Mountains believe jerns to be mythical beings for the most part, associated with mischievous nature spirits, as only a few have caught glimpses of the creatures, though those who live near the mountains can hear the creatures' strange, cough-like calls from time to time.
