Description
A creature from my bronze-age world of Dragonía; cliff martens are mustelids found in western Dragonía, in and around the cliffs lining the coast of Ela'k Forest. Although their dens are located above the cliffs, the martens spend most of their time climbing the cliffs or gliding along them like flying squirrels, using the tail to steer themselves in the air. Cliff martens mostly eat small rodents, reptiles or birds found around the coast, but their favourite prey are þe'haned birds which live on the cliffs; the martens hunt them by either dropping down on a bird in its nest, or snatching hatchlings away while gliding.
The Útels, natives of Ela'k Forest, see cliff martens as vermin, since the martens tend to steal food and go berserk around poultry or rabbits.
