In any case, a brilliant design. the dark rainy background make the setting look really gritty which, in turn makes the big guy pop out even better. His human build give him both a disciplinary yet still compassionate look. The function of this mech is clear, intimidation to possible higher-threat criminals as well as using a single asset to control a larger threat.

In fact, that's such a strange idea. Β What sort of world would they live in that gigantic police mechs are necessary? Β Presumably a world filled with gigantic criminal mechs? Β I've never actually thought of that before.

I'd recommend you to watch Patlabor anime show
Gist of it, let's say mechs exist and often used in construction or such, so if to be hijacked by criminals - they are pretty hard to stop using regular police. So that's why there is police mechs.
