It was a long time ago, hmm, I think it may have been a general lack of variety in the spine patterns that I had seen used in fan-characters. Plus I just wanted to show some of my own ideas.

Variety is something that is desperately needed
in the Sonic community now-a-days what will all the recolors 
I have to say the one on the top right interests me.
It propbably won't be for a long while, but would you mind me using as a basis
for a quill pattern for a character i'm designing for a friend?

She was acutally based off of a lovely friend of mine from memory alone.
If you think that about Amelia, it makes me wonder what you make of Kai and Cassi.

Well, when it comes to Cassi, I don't tend to be too fond of naked, voluptuous, furry-type characters. My preference is for them to be covered up. I guess Kai's alright. Don't often see muscular Mobian characters.

I'm aware she's not for everyone, but hey,
what's the difference between her and Sally
when it comes to clothes? Honestly? A jacket and a pair of boots.
Just like Sal, her fur covers everything. Long story short,
I made her that way because she's a literal amazon
who isn't afraid to express her standpoint against her culture,
which indoctrinates members to believe that garments
ultimately represent statis and occupation. In order to protest,
she decided to purposefully skimp or go "au naturel".
To put it simply, I made her to be the incarnation of cultural rebel spirit.
Almost none, actually, if you don't count exagerated official character, or the comic canon.
When it comes to original Sonic characters, Kai is one of a kind.
