Ok..how do you do this watercolor thing, mate? I'm starting to get envious of how the colors pop...and I can't seem to get a similar feel when I try to make a more natural form of shading digitally.

Granted, that may just be because I've spent most of my life too poor to afford paint lol...but I'd appreciate any tips you could give.

You'd be hard pressed to actually pick out something to hate about this. I've never been surfing and probably won't for awhile given where I live, but this....this makes me want to do it. Probably should wait until I can actually ollie on a skateboard, but details, details.

Anatomy is great, which I can't say I don't expect from your art, but it's the homages paid in their clothes and expressions that truly give them depth in the picture. I'm almost jealous you and Kinetic [which you stated was like a solid 85%-95% her idea] thought up a gijinka scenario like this...it's not some cheap concept that everyone has used, and it works perfectly with their continuity.

I...have got to start drawing stuff again...doing things here and there is only irritating me because I feel like I could do better than what I'm doing now...

Man, I wish I could try surfing, its something on my bucket list lol But its really amazing how you drew this. The colors of the waves looks nicely done, especially towards the lighting effects and stuff but one thing that fascinates me is mostly with the characters ya drew as humans. But aside form all of this, you really did a fantastic job with all of this.

I LOVE

The lighting and the hair and the poses are fantastic, as always. Gosh, I love the movement and “flow” of this pic. It’s like such a “feel good” pic. ABSOLUTELY CHILL VIBES.

The water looks so good, right down to the slight reflections of them. It’s the coolest thing how it looks and feels like you’re actually inside riding through a wave with them as opposed to “outside” riding on one. There’s a “trapped in a water tunnel” feeling and that sure as heck isn’t a bad thing. *_____________* If I look at it a certain way, the water even looks like it’s moving, like one of those weird spinning rooms in funhouses.

I really like how all their personalities are showcased just by the way they’re surfing. Jet rockin’ them Vortex sunglasses and looking totally confident, completely amplified by his posture and stance. He’s leaning back totally slump and relaxed but he knows he won’t fall and I just asdfghjklasdfghjklasdfghjkl I like that you even added the texture to the waistline of his swimming trunks and that “foamy” look to the water around his board.

It’s perfect that Wave is the one riding the… wave the highest in the middle, looking quite pleased with herself >B-( Her hair looks SOOOOO GOOD be proud omg. It’s in that (totally canon) shape (I got from taking screencaps of the animated Riders opening) and I’ll always love her making the (again, canon) “hang loose” sign

And Storm taking it slower and hanging back, being the one who’d enjoy doing that neat thing surfers do where they reach out and touch the water as they go, literally feeling the whole experience and nature of it. PERFECT ;;;A;;; just like the way you drew your bf I love how the ends of his hair actually look wet!

It’s kind of getting an eyebrow-raising reaction out of me that a certain couple of individuals are just SUDDENLY interested in “Jet wearing the red tourist shirt despite never giving a crap about it before” and the whole “beachy” Rogues and palm trees and islands and shiny sunglasses and water stuff for them, and literally drawing Wave in a red bikini with a hibiscus and different-colored makeup like you JUST posted not too long ago. Hmmmm, yes. WHERE oh WHERE did their sudden interest and """inspiration””” come from??? Reminder that just because you draw beachy stuff with the MOBIANS, not gijinkas, and also just because you try to hide it on other sites outside of dA doesn’t mean I won’t notice your not-even-trying-to-be-subtle """inspiration””” That’s okay, though. It’s just evidence that they know that our headcanons and ideas for the Rogues are superior, loooooooooooooool.

Anyway, THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR DRAWING THIS PERFECTION!!!!! ;;;;;;;;;;;;; Desire… to make… all these… pictures… my background… is getting… harder to ignore…
