Description HEY! Glad to get something in! I wanted to "paint-atize" this because it would suit the theme better but, Corel is being mean. I made this on a really large sheet of paper and it was fun. I DID use a reference for those of you who are blind..... just guess. This has got to be one of my favorites... I mean look at it. The fire was hard but I prevailed to satisfaction.

ABout the Pic: I don't know why is it called "Gone with the Wind"? If you don't know slap your grandparents for not telling you, if they're dead..... god bless your soul, your excused. This is a spin off of the Movie "Gone with the Wind". I was at my grandpa's house up in Iowa when I saw the Oh-so familiar poster of this movie and I loved the pose. And because I was appalled by the amount of NaruHina pics I've done I had to fit them in. I kept the title cause it works.

I'm mad at my painter program so I'm not gonna paint this one.....yet. Also I've never seen Gone with the Wind.

Hi, Andrea! I like your picture. I've never seen Gone With the Wind, either, but you're still a REALLY good artist!

You've never seen Gone with the Wind? Then what exactly possessed you to draw Naruto characters in the lead roles from the movie? I was under the impression that artists were supposed to draw inspiration from things they knew about or had deep feelings for. I guess that rule doesn't apply when you involve Naruto. If you had seen the movie, their relationship isn't as "beautiful" as you'd think. But that'd involve doing research.

Alright, lay off my sister for a moment.

She was simply doing a picture using two characters from a series she liked and put them in a movie poster position that she saw in our grandparents basement. There is nothing wrong with that, and it does not take her further away from being an artist.

She simply liked the poster and used it, that's all.

Okay, listen. I stated my opinion and it's just as valid as anyone else's on this site. Supposedly that should count for something, but I forgot that anyone who does ANYTHING with Naruto somehow gets a license to be uptight and defensive about it, regardless of what you say or how you say it.

While I admire your sticking up for your sister, I wasn't exactly ASSULTING her with words. My point was that I don't understand how anyone can claim to receive inspiration from something they know NOTHING about. I've only watched about five minutes of Naruto - wouldn't you be insulted if I started writing fanfiction about it that made no sense? That's what I was trying to say.

I like anime just fine, but I'm more than a little tired of seeing drawings on this site of characters from Naruto in situations and in costumes that have nothing to do with the actual anime. It's not fanart, it's just strange, and sometimes creepy - especially when a fair chunk of it is yaoi.

My wife and I happen to be big fans of Gone With the Wind, and to see the transposition of Naruto characters into the roles of Rhett and Scarlett bugged me, and I said something. Last time I checked, I was allowed to do that. I didn't make fun of her. I stated my opinion.

Oh, I never said you weren't allowed, but it's really rude of you to express an unwanted opinion. Sheesh, none of what you said justifies what you did really. If you don't like the concept, don't insult the hard work of the artist, because while you are allowed to state your opinion, it's bad manners to state an opinion that is so...spiteful towards another person's work. And if you started writing fanfiction that made no sense, hey, I wouldn't really care much.

Do whatever you want I suppose, but this was my sister using her own talents to draw something she thought looked nice.

"Rude?" "Unwanted opinion?" Let's see, I just looked at her deviation page again, and oddly enough, there's a box for me and millions of others on dA to leave comments! My god, it's as if someone wants comments on their work! Why don't you really say what you mean - you and your sister want praise and nothing else. A hug, a handshake and a pat on the back. This is exactly what's wrong with dA - no one wants to hear anything else but how AWESOME their work is. No one can take any sort of criticism. I'm not singling you two out, because that sort of behaviour is rampant nowadays.

Nowhere in my comment was I "spiteful." Learn to use the word correctly if you're going to use it at all. I was giving my opinion. I could have been spiteful or demeaning or juvenile like a lot of other people on this site do, but I wasn't. Hell, I didn't even make fun of Naruto, and believe me, I could have. Oh, how I could have.

And as for not caring if I wrote fanfiction that didn't make sense, you are either lying or not that big of a Naruto fan (which I doubt, seeing as how the both of you seem quite obsessed). I've seen plenty of instances where a rabid Naruto fan (or any anime fan, for that matter) will TEAR APART someone for getting something wrong, or disrespecting their favourite character, or drawing someone incorrectly. I'm sure you've been party to these "rippings of new ones" plenty of times yourself, maybe even participated in one or two.

The bottom line is, if you don't want someone criticizing your work, then don't ask for comments. That lil' box works both ways, and if you're not mature enough to deal with the critiques as well as the praise, then you shouldn't even bother showing your work to anyone other than your friends. Don't get mad about it - sometimes someone actually has a valid point.

GrandLordAtos In reply to sets-child [2008-04-13 16:47:02 +0000 UTC]

Listen, I choose not to critisize work because of the fact that I hardly CARE about bad fanfictions, and you have no place, right, or reason to judge me otherswise.

And my sister is allowed to work hard on something and not expect a DUMB comment. Do you HONESTLY think anyone cares about how relevant the subject of the picture is to the movie?! She wants critique on her drawing skills, NOT the damn concept. Get over yourself, because right now you seem like a smartass.

If you don't like a concept, don't comment. The only thing ANYONE ever wants critique on is the drawing skill.

And to add on to the 3rd paragraph, I don't rip on ANYTHING. This is because I am courteous of other people's hard work. Now I don't see any point in this conversation continuing at all.

Kitsoa In reply to sets-child [2008-04-12 01:16:29 +0000 UTC]

AH! Yes I admit I have never seen the movie. But I was inspired when I saw the portrait at my grandmothers house. I loved the pose and as I was drawing the outline I was wonder what pairing I should enforce. NaruHina came to mind because I didn't have much on the pairing. I was inspired by the pose, not the background. I thought of how funny the name seemed to fit with "wind" and junk so I stuck with it.

Artist are allowed to draw what ever they want. One of the beauties of it is the power it grants you to share your visions to others. Insparation feeds the beauty and with this peice, the insparation from the pose kept me going. I draw what I feel and in no means did I intend for this pic to have any deeper meaning than the image itself. I appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

Hi there. Listen - I don't know if what your brother is saying is true or not, but I was just asking a question of you. I notice that he likes to comment on all of the comments on this piece, which I find a little more than creepy. I was more than willing to drop it after you very maturely and succinctly answered my question, but he felt - and still feels - the need to continue this. For your sake, I'm not going to continue littering your deviation with this argument.

Kitsoa In reply to sets-child [2008-04-14 20:37:50 +0000 UTC]

Forgive me, my brother gets rather protective when it comes to my well being, but it never helps me when critism involved. I have to learn to deal with it sometime. I won't deny it if you call him over protective. You weren't hurting me in any form so I just think he was being rash. So I think for the benifit of future viewers I will hide the conversation that you two performed. We can pretend this never happened and I can get on his case. Thank You for your concern and my apologies.

Like Lulu's dress in Final Fantsy X and X2, hm?

Well, even if it came here, in my country, it probabl;y came with an awfully translated title, so...

Wait, I think I know the title.. And if it is the one I think it to be...

Oh no. I hoped for it not to be, but it is. You know what their translated title means? "Whatever the wind takes"..

...Oh, I said that the "revealing" part reminded me of Lulu's dress (game FFX and FFX2) And that I searched for the movie, to see if it was anywhere in my country. And saw the title, with an awful translatio. One that was completely altering the meaning of the original one

Actually, you might be the first to use a movie this classic in NaruHina art.
