-THE ORIGINAL-
Zetto is, unlike most of the TOME characters, NOT based on a user I met, but was in fact a character made from scratch for the TvTome Adventures story; with his name taken from an alternate account screenname I had many years prior. The name is literally just the Japanese pronunciation of the roman letter Z, taken from Dragon Ball Z ("Doragonbooru Zetto"), hence why his look and abilities are inspired by such. In TTA, Zetto was a stereotypical grumpy rival to Alpha; an obsessor who would do anything to be the best player in the game and obnoxiously shout it to the whole world. It turned out that he was behind the various hackers being hired to wreak havoc across TOME, seeking a virus that he would use for his own personal power source. After a change of heart, Zetto eventually helped Alpha and friends in a time of need and was considered a good guy from there on out.

-THE NEW-
One of the very first ideas I came up with all the way back at the beginning of the TOME "remake" concept was having Kirbopher and Zetto, in this version of the story, be the same player using different accounts ("multiboxing" I believe is the term for that). It was an idea that I thought was just crazy enough to work and found it to be one of the most exciting prospects of writing the story. Instead of a power-hungry lunatic obsessed with being good at a video game, I had instead come up with a multi-layered character placed in an unintentional antagonistic position. To Alpha and our heroes, the hackers (and by extension, the one hiring them) are the enemy, causing problems and putting people in danger because of the Forbidden Power. In reality, Zetto and Kizuna (who took on Zetto's role as the hacker boss "Voltarius") were working together to try and covertly find this virus they were familiar with and erase it, so people like Alpha wouldn't be harmed by it. I kept Zetto's confidence and pride, but kept him very vague and mysterious...then, when the twist was revealed that he and Kirb were in fact the same person on different accounts, you could believe it. The player behind Zetto created the Kirbopher account for the purpose of just purely enjoying TOME as a game and having fun with the new friends he made...but tragically, those same friends got wrapped up in the whole mess he was setting out to prevent. Having the full context behind Zetto's motivation at the end of the season, you can understand the struggle he goes through under the guise of Kirb; caught between wanting to make his friends happy and having to fulfill a solemn and desperate mission he set out to accomplish with Kizuna's help. Illustrating this mysterious "double life" was definitely one of the biggest driving forces behind doing the show, overall.
