the double cherry is a power up in super mario 3D world that allows the person who gets it to clone themselves as many times as possible. i've had up to 5 with me at a time.

I see, do you "control" two character the, like how you can control Popo or Nana in super smash bros while the other mimics you? or do get a cpu that act as the other?

the other marios are all controlled by one, but they mirror every move you make. they can be separated though but they'll still move the same. until they get hit once and the clone disappears, and with up to 5 seen, you can survive a lot through the level in that case, til the end where your clones automatically go poof
