I'm quite happy with how much I've been drawing these past few days. Guess I've gotta get the creative juices going before this new job of mine drains it all.Anywho, they announced a new Ultraman Netflix series slated for next year and I'm super excited for it! Lot of cool things coming out next year....
Ultraman is owned by Tsuburaya Productions.

It's good stuff! I've only ever seen the original series (well, not original as in Ultra Q, but the second series I guess), but it's just interesting to see all the weird, out-there monsters he fights.

Yeah, I also love all the subtle nods to ultraman in the media. It's really interesting. I'm not too into Kaiju stuff, but I'd like to get into more.

Absolutely! I love what justice that series did for those Ultra-Kaiju. They made them badass, unique, AND they still stay very true to the original versions (love their Antlar and Zetton in particular too. Love to see their take on Red King).

I actually have bemular and antlar, was going to pick up gomora but the whole mix matched horn thing just bothers the hell out of me.

Hey nice! I would kill to have one of those.
Gomora is one of my top favorite Ultra kaiju, and I can respect the design choice they went with for the statue....but it does feel kinda off. The face particularly; my idea of Gomora should have a slightly longer snout; and I actually prefer the forward pointing nose horn.

He is also one of my favorite as well, but the next figure coming out from them is telesdon which look absolutely amazing and I can't wait for him to come out.

Oooh, yeah I saw that one. They did Telesdon real good. What I love about this series is how they accentuate the monster's most distinct features; their take on Telesdon makes it very apparent that he's a burrowing monster.

Yes I feel the same, now I don't care for all their stuff like Neronga he looks like a 80's teenage mutant Ninja turtles villain and dorako only because they when with the concept of him instead of the suit. But I am waiting and hoping for a jirass and Geronimon and of course ultraman himself.

It's on it's way; next year! I'd definitely be happy to see a new, fresh-take on Ultraman. I've only ever watched the original series and there's TONS of later series that have hundreds of episodes (really hard to keep up with).

Hm....Will Smith huh....I think he could make for a good Ultraman. Only thing about a Hollywood Ultraman I'd be wary of is that they'd probably try and make it TOO serious and dark. I'm all for dark, edgy, kaiju movies, but for Ultraman himself; it definitely needs to be vibrant and somewhat campy. I based his design here off the design for him for the upcoming Netflix series, which is meant to be more "realistic" and "edgy", but it's not over-the-top, and I like it a lot.

Exactly. Spiderman is a great example. Plenty colorful and campy, but also has plenty of dark devious characters and scenarios.

With Ultraman, the monster fights would be more Interesting
With Ultraman being so slim and athletic, we'd see more action, leaps and flips and punches
Not like Godzilla fights where there isn't too much moving and it's more like a shoving and beam spitting match
